Trânsito Amigo
In Brazil, more than 170,000 people are injured every year in traffic accidents. One of the factors contributing to this figure is the non-use of seat belts by backseat passengers. According to the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics, 92% of passengers do not wear a seat belt when not traveling in front.
This discussion has become even more significant after the death of singer Cristiano Araújo, who along with his girlfriend was killed in a traffic accident on 06.24.2015. The two were in the backseat and not wearing seat belts. The fact has caused a big shock in brazilian society and TrânsitoAmigo, a NGO responsible for safety initiatives on streets and roads, entered the debate to promote the importance of wearing a seat belt in the backseat.
